We're fortunate to have met Stuart while working with a mutual client. From the beginning, it felt like we were all part of the same team, and we knew pretty quickly that we wanted to work with him long-term (Stuarts tells us the feeling was mutual).
Don't let his mild-mannered nature fool you - Stuart is an epic adventurer. After growing up and beginning his career in Scotland, Stuart followed his heart and ended up on the U.S. East Coast. Of course he misses his family and friends (and no doubt the fish and chips), but he feels incredibly fulfilled with the life he's building in Maryland with his wife and two boys.
An avid cyclist, one of Stuart's favorite rides is the 100-mile Tour de Frederick ride through rural Maryland and historic Gettysburg. Riding over the dynamic and challenging terrain gives Stuart the freedom to explore, the mental space for reflection, and a profound sense of progress and accomplishment.
That's almost a perfect metaphor for the way he approaches his work. He loves having diverse clients and working on a variety of business challenges. He expertly guides teams through thoughtful problem solving. And he feels deep satisfaction seeing the positive impact of helping clients design and deploy human-centered solutions.
What advice does Stuart have for anyone embarking on a new route full of steep climbs and rough roads? "Embrace the change and remain positive. Focus on the value you get out of the little things in life more than the big problems you can't really change, and you'll end up better for it."
If you're lucky enough to get to work with Stuart, you'll get to see his adventurous outlook and positive energy firsthand, and you'll definitely end up better for it.
